About Course

Purpose

IASP 30-hour HSE Outreach Course purposes are promoting workplace safety and health and making workers more knowledgeable about workplace hazards and risk controls.

Workshop Expectations

IASP 30-hour HSE Outreach Course is intended to provide a variety of training to workers with safety responsibilities. Training emphasizes hazard identification, avoidance, control, and prevention, as well as OSHA standards.

Workshop Objectives

Participants who successfully complete all workshop requirements will be able to:

  1. Understand what OSHA is, its role, the inspection requirements for recording injuries and illnesses, the rights of employers and employees during inspections, the types of citations and penalties issued by OSHA, and more.
  2. Know the role of the supervisor and the importance of the overall company health and safety programs, as well as the need for effective communication.
  3. Understand the Globally Harmonized System of Classification and learn why hazard communication is important for all levels of employment.
  4. Understand fall protection, fire prevention, electrical safety, the nature of bloodborne pathogens and how to prevent risk and minimize exposure, ergonomics, and more.
  5. Know the difference between confined spaces and permit required confined spaces.
